Overview
A county in the western Atlanta suburbs where small-town main streets, interstate warehouses and large technology campuses now sit within a few miles of each other. Douglas County is among the communities confirming its participation in Built With Communities.
History with digital infrastructure
Created in 1870 from parts of Campbell and Carroll counties and named for Dr. Stephen H. Douglas, a Georgia physician and legislator, Douglas County spent most of its history in farming and lumber. Interstate 20 brought the Atlanta suburbs west, and the county became a home for distribution, logistics and technology campuses.
